BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Oil and Gas Conservation Commission has approved a plan for greater sage grouse on state endowment lands as part of the state's effort to avoid a federal listing of the bird under the Endangered Species Act. The commission voted to approve two sections of the state's 82-page Greater Sage-Grouse Conservation Plan. The sections contain suggestions concerning such things wildfire prevention, invasive species, surface use and noise.
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — Three people who were injured when a drunken driver crashed his truck into a northern Idaho home have filed a lawsuit against the bar where the man drank before the accident. The Coeur d'Alene Press reports that the lawsuit contends that The Corner Bar and the bar's owners are responsible for over-serving the man who crashed into the home in 2013, leaving the three badly injured. The owners have not yet filed a response to the lawsuit.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Wildlife officials have wrangled a moose that meandered through a park in Idaho's largest city, the second sighting of the animal captured last year in Boise. The 400-pound young female moose snacked on leaves in the park on the north side of Boise before authorities tranquilized and captured it. Officials will release the moose about two hours north of Boise.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Springtime in southwestern Idaho means flowers are blooming, the sun is shining and ducklings are falling into storm drains. Boise firefighters used a net to scoop a pair of wayward ducklings out of a drain. A homeowner saw the ducklings and asked the Fire Department to help.
