LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 15-year-old has surrendered to police following the death of an innocent bystander in a Las Vegas drive-by shooting.
KLAS-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1OhSEng ) that Metro Police announced on their Facebook page that the teen's mother turned him in.
Investigators say 24-year-old Cassandra Lee Cassidy of Las Vegas was shot to death after arriving to work late Friday.
She was approached by two females outside the drug and alcohol rehab center where she worked. They asked for help and said two men were chasing them.
Cassidy was then hit by a bullet from a drive-by shooting.
She was rushed to a hospital, where she died.
Detectives say they do not believe Cassidy was the intended target.
Metro Police released a video of a person they were trying to identify on Tuesday.
