1 dead, 1 wounded in shooting near Pittsburgh universities

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A shooting near the University of Pittsburgh has left a man dead and another man wounded.

Pittsburgh police say the two men were shot around 9:10 p.m. in a part of the city's Oakland section that's home to many Pitt and Carnegie Mellon students.

Police say they don't believe the people in involved in the shooting were students.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene on the 3200 block of Ward Street. The other is hospitalized at UPMC Presbyterian. His condition wasn't immediately available.

Police didn't release the names of the victims.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is continuing.
