SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — People in the northern Utah town of Nibley are being warned not to drink city water after authorities discovered diesel fuel in a municipal spring.
Authorities say they found water contamination Wednesday afternoon, and are trying to isolate the spring and flush the water lines.
City manager David Zook tells the Logan Herald Journal newspaper (http://bit.ly/1K5ZHti) that the water will likely be unusable for cooking or drinking until at least Thursday, but officials are trying to find places where people can go for safe water in neighboring towns.
Nibley is a city of about 5,500 residents located about 80 miles north of Salt Lake City.
