ETTRICK, Va. (AP) — Virginia State University's Board of Visitors has approved a 3 percent increase in tuition and mandatory fees.
The university said Friday that translates into an increase of $224 for in-state undergraduate students for the 2015-16 academic year.
While room rates were not increased, the cost of a meal plan will go up by $124.
Including tuition, fees, room and board, the cost for an in-state student attending VSU during the upcoming academic year will be $18,478.
For out-of-state undergraduates, the cost of attending VSU will be $28,650. That's a 2.4 percent across-the-board increase.
