ENOCH, Utah (AP) — Officials in a southeastern Utah town say three people have died in a house fire. Rob Dots, the city manager of Enoch, says two women and a man died in the blaze last fire. Their identities have not been released. Officials are still working to notify their family members. Investigators believe electric wiring in the garage may have sparked the blaze.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A 4-year-old girl is dead after she was run over by a tractor in Uintah County. Authorities said the girl was riding on the side of a tractor in the driveway of a home late yesterday afternoon when a relative who was driving it shifted gears. That caused the tractor to lurch forward and the girl lost her balance, fell off and was run over by the rear tire. Her name was not immediately released.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police are investigating after a Family Dollar employee in Taylorsville who reported she was tied up and left in a back room during an armed robbery. The Deseret News reports that Unified Police say a pair of suspects pulled out a gun and demanded the woman at the counter give them cash from two safes. They tied her up with TV cable and left her in a room in the back.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — State regulators say they need a number of questions answered before approving a plan to bury in Utah's western desert a type of nuclear waste that grows more radioactive over a million years. They've examined a plan from Salt Lake City-based EnergySolutions that the company says would safely bury the waste in a way that weathers changes in climate, civilization and other disruptions.
