CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) — A former Pennsylvania high school choral teacher has pleaded guilty in West Virginia to trying to meet a teenage girl for sex.

The Exponent Telegram (http://bit.ly/1CJGOGh ) reports that 44-year-old Daniel McGarvey of South Union Township in Pennsylvania pleaded guilty on Monday in federal court to travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct. A sentencing date hasn't been set.

Bridgeport police arrested McGarvey in October 2014 at a mall. Police say he went to the mall expecting to meet a 15-year-old girl. The girl was actually a police detective who had corresponded online with McGarvey.

McGarvey formerly was a choral teacher at the Laurel Highlands School District near Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
