BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Rasmussen College has announced that it's shuttering its Bismarck campus as the majority of its students now take classes online.

The college will now use its Fargo offices as the only campus hub in North Dakota, reported The Bismarck Tribune (http://bit.ly/1FtEDLB ).

Ninety-three percent of the school's students enrolled at the Bismarck campus already take their classes online and don't use the actual building, said Amy Beito, Rasmussen's North Dakota Campus Director.

"The feedback we were receiving is that students weren't accessing the building anyhow because they were already being served by our statewide model," Beito said. "With 93 percent online, we don't need that physical space."

The only program to be affected will be the college's residential medical assisting program. With 10 students it's the college's smallest program and will be discontinued after the remaining students finish their programs.

Tuition will remain the same for student. Anyone enrolled at the Bismarck campus will be able to complete a degrees online and enrollment will be to the Fargo campus. Accreditation of its educational programs won't change.

The 18,000 square-foot Bismarck building will close in November when the lease is up.

Rasmussen is a private for-profit college that has campuses in 6 states.
