PARIS (AP) — There's more evidence today of the actions taken by co-pilot Andreas Lubitz as a German airliner flew toward a mountain in the French Alps. Investigators say information from the flight data recorder shows that Lubitz repeatedly accelerated the plane, after first using the automatic pilot to put the aircraft into a descent. They'll keep studying the black box for more complete details on what happened.

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Even though Iranian hard-liners are criticizing the nuclear agreement worked out with the United States and other world powers yesterday, it's being overwhelmingly supported by the country's establishment. Iran's foreign minister, who negotiated the agreement, received a hero's welcome when he arrived back in Tehran today. Crowds of cheering supporters surrounded his vehicles. One of their chants offered sarcastic "condolences" to Israel and to a hard-line Iranian newspaper, both of which have opposed the negotiations from the start.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz are among 57 Republicans in Congress who are calling on the Supreme Court to uphold state bans on same-sex marriage. The congressional Republicans said in a brief filed at the high court Friday that the justices should not impose "a federally mandated redefinition of the ancient institution of marriage" nationwide. The court will hear arguments later this month in cases from McConnell's home state of Kentucky, as well as Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee. Same-sex couples can marry in 37 states.

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — A spring snowstorm and some icy roads have caught Colorado drivers by surprise today. They caused a 39-vehicle pileup near Boulder and other bad wrecks that shut down highways during the morning commute. No serious injuries were reported in the crashes, but tow-truck drivers were kept busy hauling away damaged cars.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A police corruption trial in Philadelphia is far from over, but there's already a penalty for a prosecution witness. Robert Kushner testified that undercover officers stole $81,000 and seven pounds of pot from him in 2007. His criminal history came as news to officials at the private school in a Philadelphia suburb where he coached basketball. Kushner has now been fired.
