LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police are recommending a more serious charge against an officer facing misdemeanor battery after a body camera recorded a confrontation with a woman during an arrest. A police report says the video shows Officer Richard Scavone throwing the woman to the ground, grabbing her by the neck and slamming her head on the hood of his patrol car, contradicting his statements.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A lawyer for relatives of a Nevada prison inmate shot and killed by a guard blames a four-month wait for information about the case on "deliberate indifference" by state officials, including Gov. Brian Sandoval. Attorney Cal Potter said Friday he's preparing a federal lawsuit for the family of Carlos Manuel Perez Jr.
NEW YORK (AP) — A JetBlue Airways pilot who scared passengers by yelling about Jesus and al-Qaida in 2012 has sued the airline for $16 million, saying it jeopardized the flight by failing to recognize he was ill. No one was seriously injured on the March 27, 2012 flight from New York to Las Vegas when Clayton Osbon was restrained after running through the cabin shouting incoherently.
