LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Authorities are accusing suspended-Utah State football player Gregory Weichers of not only soliciting a prostitute last fall, but also giving her drugs and sexually assaulting her.
Logan Police said Wednesday in a news release that Weichers gave the prostitute marijuana and sexually assaulted her in October at a hotel in Logan.
The 20-year-old Weichers has been charged with distribution of a controlled substance and sexual battery. He previously pleaded guilty to soliciting a prostitute, and was suspended indefinitely from the team.
Weichers' attorney Ed Brass said these new charges have been expected, but declined further comment.
A spokesman for Utah State athletics didn't immediately return request for comment.
Weichers played in nine games last season for the Aggies as a wide receiver.
His father is former BYU safety Greg Weichers.
