FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) — A 77-year-old Farmington man charged with lewdness after sunbathing nude in his backyard has agreed to a plea deal that keeps his record clean as long as he wears a swimsuit. Attorney Bill Albright says Myron Kipp has been sunbathing nude for 30 years, and it wasn't a problem until new neighbors moved in.
TABIONA, Utah (AP) — A councilman in a small Utah town of Tabiona is pleading guilty to charges of stalking and lewdness. The Deseret News reports that 25-year-old Jason Hoyt was accused of sending a 14-year-old girl sexually explicit Facebook messages. Hoyt told investigators he thought the girl was 17.
FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) — A Farmington man who pleaded guilty in a case that spurred lawmakers to revise state law against so-called revenge porn has been sentenced to 60 days in jail. Shon Handrahan apologized at his sentencing yesterday, saying he wasn't in his right state of mind when he sent the images. Authorities say the 31-year-old sent nude pictures of his estranged wife to her acquaintances in 2012.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — While skiers have been disappointed with the lack of snow this season, it's good news for golfers. Utah State Parks has opened a golf course at Wasatch Mountain State Park, beating its earliest opening date by five days. Head golf pro Chris Newson says the early opening may draw people who would otherwise be skiing.
