BURNET, Texas (AP) — A former Central Texas high school baseball coach has pleaded guilty to two counts of an improper relationship between an educator and student.
According to the Burnet County district attorney, Jose Miguel Sierra has been sentenced to 10 years of probation. The charges stem from claims Sierra had a relationship with a 17-year-old student while working for the Burnet school district.
He was arrested last March and admitted to the relationship when questioned by police. He was employed at Burnet High School.
As part of his plea agreement, he will no longer be allowed to serve as a certified coach in any state. He also cannot seek out a job as a coach, assistant coach, teacher's aide or substitute teacher at any public or private primary or secondary school.
