HERMANTOWN, Minn. (AP) — A bomb squad has detonated a pipe bomb found outside a building in northeastern Minnesota that houses a pre-kindergarten program.

WDIO-TV (http://bit.ly/1KXOhMn ) reports the Hermantown Area Family Resource Center was evacuated Wednesday morning after a parent noticed the object outside the building.

The Crow Wing County Bomb Squad responded and detonated the pipe bomb around 12:30 p.m. No one was hurt.

Hermantown Deputy Police Chief Shawn Padden says the pipe bomb appeared to be old and may have been there for a while. Authorities are testing powder that was in the object.

The Family Resource Center is operated by the Hermantown School District and offers pre-kindergarten and other programs.
