SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A large fire consumed an abandoned building in a cold-storage complex as it burned for hours yesterday in an Ogden rail yard. Fire officials say the blaze was too large and hot for crews to enter the building, so they used a drone to find hot spots and identify already-burned areas from the air. Firefighters are investigating what caused the fire.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Mormon man who runs a website that offers doubting Latter-day Saints a forum to chat is appealing his excommunication from the faith. John Dehlin of North Logan said yesterday he believes he was unjustly ousted from the religion last month by regional church leaders who didn't follow church protocol.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Derrick Favors had 29 points and 12 rebounds, and the Utah Jazz beat the New York Knicks 87-82 last night to tie a season high with their third straight victory. Both teams struggled to score as the Jazz were without leading scorer Gordon Hayward who's out with a sore back. Reserve Rodney Hood scored 17 points for the Jazz, while Rudy Gobert added 10 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and three steals.
