PHILADELPHIA (AP) — One of two brothers charged in the fatal shooting of a Philadelphia police officer during a gunfight at a video game store has been arraigned on murder charges.
Twenty-four-year-old Ramone Williams was arraigned early Saturday. His brother, 29-year-old Carlton Hipps, remains hospitalized.
It's unclear if either suspect has an attorney who can comment on the charges.
Officer Robert Wilson III was buying a present for his son while on duty Thursday when police say the brothers entered the store to rob it. Police say Wilson exchanged fire with the suspects and was shot multiple times in the body and head.
Police officials say the 8-year veteran saved lives by drawing fire away from other patrons in the store.
Actor Dan Aykroyd, at the Philadelphia Flower Show on Saturday, says he'll make a donation to the officer's family.
