BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Ridesharing company Uber has suspended operations in Boise. The company in a three-page letter to city leaders says it became clear at a city council work session that the city plans to impose unworkable and onerous regulations. Boise leaders want Uber to follow rules already in place for cab services, including insurance regulations and vehicle inspections. The company had been offering free rides in the city but Uber says that financial burden has become unsustainable.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Legislation seeking to exempt public road materials from the Idaho sales tax is one step closer to making it to the governor's desk. If passed, the legislation would no longer tax materials used on public roads. Doing so, however, would remove an estimated $15 million to $20 million from the Idaho general fund.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Two individuals have filed federal lawsuits against Idaho contending the state retaliated against them after each informed officials that the Idaho Commission on Aging failed to properly distribute federal money. Sarah Scott and Kendra Kenyon in the lawsuits say that their speaking about the state's violations of the federal Older Americans Act by the Idaho Commission on Aging led to retaliatory measures that cost them their jobs.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A southwest Idaho fitness company that closed despite having customers with prepaid accounts has been ordered to pay $394,900. Idaho's Attorney General says the judgment against Body Renew Fitness includes $13,900 in restitution for 70 customers.
