STEPHENVILLE, Texas (AP) — A jury in Stephenville (STEE'-ven-vil), Texas has found an ex-Marine guilty of killing "American Sniper" author Chris Kyle and another man, who were gunned down at a shooting range in February 2013. Defense lawyers had argued that Eddie Ray Routh (rowth) suffered from psychosis when he turned his weapon on Kyle and Kyle's friend Chad Littlefield. The men had taken Routh out shooting after Routh's mother asked Kyle to help him. Routh will receive an automatic life sentence without parole.

UNDATED (AP) — There's no relief from the cold, the ice and snow in much of the U.S. There were record-breaking temperatures for a wide section of the country Tuesday. A mix of snow, sleet, rain and freezing rain hit parts of the southern Plains and the South, and many folks are bracing for more storms later this week.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republicans say they're willing to allow a vote on a Homeland Security funding bill that's stripped of immigration provisions conservatives have been pushing. The Senate has been at an impasse over a House-approved bill that would block President Barack Obama's executive actions on immigration. But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he's not sure how his fellow GOP in the House would respond to a stand-alone spending bill. Current Homeland Security funding runs out midnight Friday.

Authorities say 54-year-old Jose Alejandro Sanchez Ramirez of Arizona abandoned his truck when it got stuck on train tracks. The commuter train bound for Los Angeles slammed into the truck, causing a fiery collision and injuring dozens of people. Police found a disoriented Sanchez Ramirez more than a mile-and-a-half away from the scene.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — E! channel's Giuliana Rancic (RAN'-sihk) is apologizing to actress-singer Zendaya (zen-DAY'-uh) and others for comments she made about the 18-year-old's dreadlocks on "Fashion Police." During Monday's post-Oscar episode, Rancic jokingly suggested that Zendaya's hair smelled of patchouli oil or marijuana. Zendaya tweeted that Rancic's comments were "outrageously offensive." Rancic said on "E! News" tonight that reaction to her comments has increased her awareness of "cliches and stereotypes."
