OREM, Utah (AP) — Police are investigating the death of two men in an apparent murder-suicide at a home in Orem.
Investigators have identified the victims of Wednesday's shootings as 24-year-old Riley Mecham and 65-year-old Holden Sorenson.
Orem Police Lt. Craig Martinez says Mecham allegedly shot Sorenson with a shotgun before he killed himself with an AR-15 rifle.
Police were called to the home about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City about 5:40 a.m.
Martinez told the Desert News (http://tinyurl.com/l8bc5gd) Sorenson was the live-in boyfriend of Mecham's grandmother. He says all three lived at the home with Mecham's mother.
Martinez says they're treating it as murder-suicide. He says the only motive seems to be that Mecham didn't like his grandmother's boyfriend.
