SCAPPOOSE, Ore. (AP) — Students in the northwestern Oregon town Scappoose were sent home at midday Wednesday because of a threat written on a bathroom stall at the high school.

KGW-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1zooMsX) that a letter was sent to parents describing the graffiti threat as specific about "date, time and means," and school officials are taking it very seriously.

The staff remained at work while police conducted an investigation.

Scappoose is a town of 6,700 people about 20 miles northwest of Portland.
