SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Jury selection is set tomorrow for the trial of a Salt Lake City pediatrician charged with murder in the 2011 death of his ex-wife, a university biologist and mother of their four children. John Wall has maintained his innocence since his arrest in April 2013 despite being accused by prosecutors and his oldest son of killing Uta Von Schwedler. Police called the death suspicious when she was found in the bathtub of her Salt Lake City home, but Wall wasn't charged until nearly 18 months later.
ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — The Utah State Bar has filed an ethics complaint against a St. George defense attorney accused of having a sexual relationship with a client during a kidnapping and assault case. Aric Cramer is accused of unprofessional conduct while representing Haylee Cheek in a case that resulted in her 2010 conviction.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Wasatch Mountains form the backdrop of northern Utah's fast-growing urban corridor and play a large part in the state's $12 billion-dollar-a-year tourism industry. Their future was subject of a public meeting last week on a new plan designed to balance environmental conservation with the ski industry and other needs.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Salt Lake City woman says she has smashed the world record for catching bridal bouquets at weddings and now is seeking recognition for it. Jamie Jackson has submitted an application to Guinness World Records, saying she has caught 46 bouquets since 1996 and has the documentation to prove it. The current record of 11 bouquets has stood since 2004.
