DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — Dickinson State University President D.C. Coston says he plans to retire once a new leader for the university is found.
The university announced Coston's retirement on Friday and credited him with helping the institution through troubled times and dropping enrollment.
Coston says he believes Dickinson State has a bright future ahead of it. State Board of Higher Education Chairman Terry Hjelmstad says Coston overcame the challenges he faced.
Larry C. Skogen is the interim chancellor of the North Dakota University System. He says he looks forward to working with the university community to find Coston's replacement.
Before coming to DSU, Coston was vice president for agriculture and university extension at North Dakota State University for six years.
