TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Tulsa Community College and the TCC Foundation are receiving $3 million from the American Electric Power Foundation to launch the Credits Count program.

Credits Count is a signature program of the AEP Foundation that will benefit high school and middle school students in Tulsa Public Schools. The program focuses on science, technology, engineering and mathematics studies.

Credits Count will begin at Will Rogers College High School and will expand to three additional Tulsa public high schools. It will also include the middle schools that feed into them.

TCC will work with students and their families to explore the academic fields and introduce students to fields they may never have considered as career options.

Credits Count will also help students become ready to study college-level courses while still in high school.
