Teenage bicyclist hit by car in Las Vegas dies

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say a 13-year-old boy struck by a car while riding a bicycle in Las Vegas has died.

The Clark County Coroner's office says Cameron Demaranville died Sunday, after being struck by at 17-year-old driver in a crosswalk Friday.

Las Vegas police say the teen was hit as he rode his bike across the busy Jones Boulevard at Dewey Drive near Russell Road.

Demaranville's classmates at Grant Sawyer Middle School are mourning the boy they say was outgoing and friendly.

Police are investigating the crash.

KLAS-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1E3cKIo) the fatal collision came one day after a 15-year-old bicyclist was critically injured when he was struck by a car at the same intersection.
