UNION, Mo. (AP) — A Franklin County couple has been charged with stealing more than $23,000 from a middle school band's booster club.
The Washington Missourian (bit.ly/16OF4TY ) reports that Betty R. Anderson of Union and her husband Terry J. Anderson are accused of felony theft from the Union Wildcat Band Boosters while serving as officers with the organization. They were released on bond after being charged last week.
Police say the thefts occurred between July and December of 2014 and involved both cash and retail gift cards. The couple is accused of stealing more than $2,500 from the kitchen during a Union Middle School craft show.
An attorney for the couple declined to comment.
