MONROEVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say three people have been shot at a western Pennsylvania shopping center and have been taken to a hospital. The mall and the hospital's emergency room have been placed on lockdown. The mayor of Monroeville says the shooting happened tonight and he has only sketchy details. He says it's unclear whether the shooter was captured or escaped.
DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Authorities in Georgia say a man shot six people this afternoon, killing four of them, including his ex-wife and several children before turning the gun on himself on a quiet, suburban street west of Atlanta. Investigators are still trying to determine the shooter's motive and piece together what happened. Police say victims were shot inside and outside the home.
BOSTON (AP) — It's snowing again in New England where people are still digging out from recent powerful storms. A winter storm warning is in effect for a large swath of southern New England, including Boston; Providence, Rhode Island; and Hartford, Connecticut. The snowstorm will become more intense Sunday and by Monday night more than a foot of new snow may have fallen.
NEW YORK (AP) — Don't expect to see Brian Williams in the anchor chair of the "NBC Nightly News" on Monday. In a memo to the staff, he said as managing editor he's taking himself off the telecast for several days. The move follows questions about his memories of war coverage in Iraq. Williams says he's become a distracting news story.
SAN DIEGO (AP) — A prolific winner on the PGA Tour died Saturday at his home in Utah. Billy Casper was 83. Bob Casper says his father had coped with heart issues and went through a bout of pneumonia over Thanksgiving. Casper won 33 times on the PGA Tour in the 1960s but was overshadowed by the era's "Big Three" of Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player.
