SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Spokane Fire Department officials say two people died in a house fire in Spokane.

Fire Chief Bobby Williams told The Spokesman-Review (http://bit.ly/1FjB8H0 ) a call about the fire came Saturday at about 10 a.m. The caller said people were inside the burning structure.

Williams said firefighters saw one person jump out the front window of the house. That person took off running.

He said the fire was contained to the second floor bedroom. A man was found dead in the bedroom and a woman was rescued. Firefighters performed CPR on the woman, but she later died at a hospital.

Williams said the person who jumped from the window has not been located.

Firefighters did not find any smoke detectors in the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
