EDMOND, Okla. (AP) — A professor of history at the University of Central Oklahoma has recently been elected as president of Chinese Historians in the United States — an affiliated society of the American Historical Association and the Association of Asian Studies.
The school announced the honors Friday for Xiaobing Li, who says he will continue the tradition of serving members, promoting historical scholarship and academic exchange and developing CHUS into a vibrant academic community.
Li, who joined the faculty in 1993, currently serves as the director of the Western Pacific Institute and director of the Confucius Classroom Project and served as the chair of the Department of History and Geography from 2009 to 2014.
