BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a dog in Boise.

Authorities say the collision occurred at about 10 p.m. Thursday and when police arrived they found 29-year-old Mathew T. Bacon of Boise dead at the scene.

The Ada County Coroner's Office on Friday said Bacon died of blunt force trauma due to the motorcycle crash.

Police say the owner of the dog took the dog to a veterinarian but it died of its injuries.

Police say they received reports that the dog was not on a leash.

Police are continuing to investigate.
