Jason Chaffetz says he won't let go of his pursuit for truth about the deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya even though the committee he chairs isn't involved in the investigation. The Republican from Utah says he doesn't believe all the facts have been released about what happened in the September 2012 attacks.
OGDEN, Utah (AP) — An Ogden police detective testified that a 23-year-old man accused of aggravated murder in the death of his girlfriend's 14-month-old daughter admitted punching the girl to make her stop crying. Adam Barney told police he also squeezed the girl in an Ogden motel room where he was watching her and her two older brothers while their mother worked.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah State Fairpark officials are asking lawmakers to approve legislation to allow an 8,000-seat minor league soccer stadium to be built on the property by Real Salt Lake. The Salt Lake Tribune reports Real Salt Lake owner announced this week he would cover the costs of the $18 million stadium. Fairpark's lease with the state expires in 2017.
WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a man is dead and a woman is in critical condition after a pickup truck slammed into a compact car at a traffic signal in West Valley City. West Valley City police say the pickup apparently ran a red light. The pickup driver died when his vehicle rolled on its top and slid into a traffic light pole, narrowly missing a house.
