BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho lawmakers are in their third day of listening to testimony on legislation that would create protections for gay and lesbian people in Idaho, but it's still unknown when the bill's fate will be determined. House State Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Loertscher today set a three-minute time limit for the first time since testimony began Monday.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The U.S. Forest Service has issued a new policy requiring forest managers to limit where snowmobiles can go by specifically designating what areas are open. The change follows a 2013 federal court ruling in Boise, Idaho, that found the Forest Service incorrectly exempted snowmobiles from a 2005 Forest Service plan restricting wheeled cross-country travel to designated routes. The rules take effect Feb. 27.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 22-year-old Boise man authorities say provided the handgun used in a contract killing that left two other Boise men dead has pleaded guilty to firearms and drug charges. The Idaho Statesman reports authorities say Anton Philip Raider provided the gun in exchange for removing $600 in drug debt. Prosecutors say the killings stemmed from the theft of $100,000 of marijuana.
REXBURG, Idaho (AP) — Eastern Idaho police say two men called 911 and confessed to possessing 20 pounds of marijuana because they mistakenly believed undercover police were on to them. Police in Rexburg say they weren't aware of the drugs until the two men called on Friday to report their location and the pot worth $16,000.
