KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) — The father of a 20-year-old Pasco, Washington, man on a church mission in Mexico says his son died of a heart attack while playing soccer with members of the community.

The Tri-City Herald reports (http://is.gd/Rhkh88 ) that the father, Robert McBride, says an autopsy showed the cause of death for his son, Nathan McBride.

The elder McBride says that after a break in the Friday night game, Nathan McBride was running to get the ball when he fell down and never got back up. His father said other players performed CPR and paramedics tried to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead at a hospital.

A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nathan McBride had just started the second year of his two-year mission in Mérida, the capital of the Mexican state of Yucatán.

Robert McBride says his son was healthy and didn't have any known medical conditions.
