SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Funeral and memorial services are set for former Utah House Speaker Becky Lockhart.
Lockhart, who served in the House for 16 years, died of an extremely rare brain disease Saturday at her Provo home at the age of 46.
A public memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Capitol Rotunda in Salt Lake City, and a funeral will start at 11 a.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints stake center in Provo.
A visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the LDS church chapel in Provo.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be directed to the Rebecca D. Lockhart Endowed Scholarship for students at the Center for Constitutional Studies at Utah Valley University.
