HOLLADAY, Utah (AP) — Police say a man believed to be responsible for several armed bank robberies shot himself in the leg trying to wrestle a gun away from an officer in Holladay. Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal tells KSL-TV the man was arrested yesterday evening near a bank. Hoyal says the bullet went through the officer's coat and struck the man in the leg. The suspect was hospitalized and the officer had minor injuries.
PARK CITY, Utah (AP) — A Park City judge is ordering a woman accused of posing as a lawyer to stay out of the legal profession. Judge Ryan Harris did allow 29-year-old Karla Carbo to post $25,000 bail during a court hearing yesterday, over the objections of prosecutors. The attorney Carbo is suspected of impersonating also asked the judge to keep her in jail.
TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a man sought by police in an overnight standoff that prompted the evacuation of apartments in Taylorsville was found hiding in a clothes dryer. Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal tells the Salt Lake Tribune the man was arrested about 4 a.m. No injuries were reported.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Stephen Curry scored 27 points and ignited a decisive third-quarter run to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 116-105 victory over the Utah Jazz last night. Gordon Hayward scored 17 points while Enes Kanter and Rudy Gobert each added a double-double for Utah. Kanter finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Gobert had 16 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots off the bench.
