TRUCKEE, Calif. (AP) — A suspect wanted on murder warrants in California and Florida has been arrested after a traffic stop on U.S. Interstate 80 north of Lake Tahoe.
Truckee police say 33-year-old McKinley Calvin Williams of Elk Grove and 23-year-old Karion Jennae Bickham of Kennesaw, Georgia, currently are being held on fraud-related charges.
Police and the California Highway Patrol searched their vehicle after a K-9 alerted to the possible presence of drugs during the stop near Donner Lake about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police recovered a small amount of marijuana along with more than 100 credit cards, altered debit cards and pre-paid cash cards.
Williams is wanted on a $1 million warrant in connection with the 2012 shooting old 28-year-old Johnnie Massey of Fresno. Police say he's also a suspect in a murder in Florida.
