BALTIMORE (AP) — Hospital officials say a woman shot in the stomach by the man who killed two New York Police Department officers has been released.
Officials said Tuesday that 29-year-old Shaneka Thompson has been released from the University of Maryland Medical Center's Shock Trauma Unit, where she was being treated for a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Police say Thompson was shot in her Baltimore County apartment by her ex-boyfriend Ismaaiyl Brinsley on Dec. 20.
Police say Brinsley then boarded a bus to New York, where he fatally shot a pair of police officers sitting in a marked car. Police say Brinsley then killed himself.
