PANGKALAN BUN, Indonesia (AP) — The recovery of six bodies from the Java Sea serves as painful confirmation of what happened to a missing AirAsia flight with 162 people on board. Searchers have also spotted debris in the water including what appeared to be a life jacket and an emergency exit door.

TIRANA, Albania (AP) — The Greek ferry fire that triggered a massive rescue operation has taken another life. Albanian authorities say a sailor on board an Albanian tugboat died and another is seriously injured after apparently being hit by a rope they had been trying to attach to the drifting vessel. The rescue operation saved more than 400 people from the ferry but 10 others were killed.

LONDON (AP) — Officials say the first patient diagnosed with Ebola inside Britain has been transferred from Scotland to London for specialized treatment. The health care worker arrived at the isolation unit of the Royal Free Hospital in north London today. She had arrived in Britain Sunday night from Sierra Leone and became ill yesterday.

BAGHDAD (AP) — A post on a Twitter account frequently used by the Islamic State extremist group is claiming responsibility today for a suicide attack on a funeral tent north of the Iraqi capital that killed 16 people and wounded 34 others. The attack yesterday targeted the funeral of the father of two members of pro-government Sunni militias -- one of the IS' regular targets.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A bad report card citing a serious performance failure is costing the contractor that runs one of the nation's premier national laboratories. The fee earned by Los Alamos National Security LLC for the 2014 fiscal year was slashed to $6.25 million, a fraction of the $63.4 million the contractor could have earned. The National Nuclear Security Administration singles out a mishap in February where a container packed with radioactive waste from Los Alamos ruptured and forced an indefinite closure.
