MIAMI (AP) — An American Airlines flight heading from Bogota, Colombia, to Miami has been diverted to Kingston, Jamaica, following a possible mechanical problem.
American Airlines spokesman Casey Norton says Flight 916 was diverted Monday after a pilot reported a "pressurization" issue. The Boeing 767 landed safely without incident Monday evening. Norton says the airline was making arrangements to get its passengers to Miami as soon as possible.
Ground crews would need to inspect the plane to determine what caused the issue, but Norton says oxygen masks did not deploy.
The plane was carrying 197 passengers and nine crewmembers.
