GONZALES, La. (AP) — Two short-term projects are planned to ease traffic problems near Gonzales.
Sherri LeBas (luh-BAH'), secretary for the state Department of Transportation and Development, says both are expected to go to bid in two years.
LeBas said in a prepared statement received by The Advocate (http://bit.ly/1JTokus ) that an eastbound left-turn lane from Louisiana Highway 30 to Veterans Boulevard will be added.
In addition, the state will install an additional eastbound lane from near Ashland Road to Interstate 10.
Both of the projects are near the heavily-traveled Louisiana 30/I-10 interchange.
Lebas says DOTD will soon begin an environmental study and design the projects.
