LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — A consumer website gives high marks to the city of Laramie and the University of Wyoming in ranking college and university communities around the nation.
WalletHub.com ranks Laramie No. 6 on its list of "2014's Best & Worst College Cities & Towns in America."
The website analyzed 280 U.S. cities and towns for the best or worst combination of academic, social and economic atmospheres. It considered 23 metrics including the quality of higher education, crime rates and the cost of living.
On the WalletHub.com list, Laramie ranks behind only Oxford, Ohio; State College, Pennsylvania.; Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Corvallis, Oregon; and College Station, Texas.
