ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York health officials have chosen 11 regional contractors for the Cuomo administration program to improve health and medical care and lower costs by bringing stakeholders together to identify and share best practices and strategies.
The effort is also intended to address disparities in care among populations.
Contractors and recommended two-year funding include Fund for Public Health in New York, $5 million, for New York City. Also, STHL Inc., $2.1 million, for the Southern Tier.
Recommended for about $2.4 million each are Healthy Capital District Initiative, Health Advancement Collaborative of Central New York, Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council, Taconic Health Information Network and Community, Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Adirondack Health Institute, Fort Drum Regional Health Planning, and Collaborative of Western New York.
The Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency has also been chosen.
