LAS VEGAS (AP) — Demonstrators took to the streets in Las Vegas and Reno to show support for the families of unarmed black men killed by white police officers in Missouri and New York.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports nearly 100 people chanted "Black Lives Matter" and "Brown Lives Matter" while lying down in a Las Vegas intersection on Friday night.
In Reno, two separate demonstrations were held Friday night to protest the killings of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri and Eric Garner in New York.
KRNV-TV reports one group of demonstrators marched through downtown Reno, while another group of about a dozen people held candles and placards at Wingfield Park.
Demonstrators around the country have staged protests since grand jury decisions not to indict officers in the killings of Garner and Brown.
