LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say some flights coming into Las Vegas are being delayed by more than three hours after heavy fog shut down arrivals at McCarran International Airport Thursday morning.

The Federal Aviation Administration ordered a ground stop for landings about 6:30 a.m., though planes were still able to take off.

McCarran spokeswoman Christine Crews says the order was lifted at 9:45 a.m., but some arriving flights were still delayed by about three hours and 30 minutes midmorning.

Crews says anyone flying Thursday should expect delays, and travelers should check flight plans with individual airlines.
