TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho sheriff's spokeswoman says Twin Falls County sheriff's deputies reached the Perrine Bridge within four minutes of learning that a woman appeared ready to leap off into the 486-foot-deep Snake River canyon. The deputies persuaded the woman to come with them.
The Times-News reports (http://is.gd/Yas7cm ) that sheriff's spokeswoman Lori Stewart says the woman "wanted to talk to someone" Friday afternoon. The spokeswoman says deputies took her to a hospital "and she got what she needed."
Ed Edge Jr. and a woman traveling with him were approaching the bridge on a visit from Glendale, California, when they noticed the situation and pulled over. He says traffic was backed up and he saw two law enforcement vehicles. He says a woman was clutching the inside divider on the bridge.
