LAS VEGAS (AP) — A man who changed his name to War Machine as a mixed martial arts fighter plans to plead not guilty in Las Vegas to charges that he tried to kill his porn star ex-girlfriend and her friend. Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver is due for arraignment today on 34 felony charges. He's accused of letting himself into ex-girlfriend Christy Mack's home with a key early Aug. 8 and attacking Mack and her friend Corey Thomas. The AP usually doesn't identify alleged victims of sex crimes, but Mack has agreed to let her name be made public.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — An 18-year-old California man has been returned to Nevada to face charges in the July killing of a Reno teenager. Police say federal marshals arrested Cristian Guerrero-Mena in the San Jose area in August. Police originally said the 16-year-old killed July 20 at an apartment complex on the city's southeast side was a victim of a gang attack. But investigators later said they weren't sure about that.
WASHINGTON (AP) — In a video released on Facebook, President Barack Obama says he'll be in Las Vegas tomorrow to promote the steps he will take to protect millions of immigrants who are illegally in the country from deportation. Obama said he will make the announcement from the White House this evening and promote the plan in Las Vegas tomorrow.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Comedian Bill Cosby is set to perform at the Treasure Island hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip despite revived allegations from women who say Cosby sexually assaulted them. A Treasure Island spokeswoman says tickets to Cosby's Nov. 28 show continue to sell briskly. Both NBC and Netflix have dropped plans for projects with Cosby.
