HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Marshall University is showcasing new facilities to help nursing students get hands-on experience.
Officials are set to hold demonstrations of the school's new Nursing Simulation Center in Huntington on Wednesday and similar facilities at the Mid-Ohio Valley Center in Point Pleasant on Thursday.
Faculty and students are scheduled to demonstration the use of mannequins that are run by a computer. The mannequins incorporate advanced features such as a chest wall that rises and falls to simulate respiration, pulses, and programmable heart, breath and bowel sounds.
