TREMONTON, Utah (AP) — A snowstorm helped trigger a rash of accidents across much of Utah, including a fatal accident on Interstate 15 in Box Elder County.

The Utah Highway Patrol says 49-year-old Tracy Hoskins of Bothwell died Thursday after her pickup truck slid on a patch of ice, left the interstate and rolled.

Hoskins, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died instantly in the 8:45 a.m. crash between Tremonton and Elwood.

Motorists in Utah were urged to drive slower than normal after the snow turned to water on freeways and then froze.

The highway patrol reported 35 freeway accidents in Box Elder County, 34 accidents in Weber County and 16 in Davis County between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
