NEW YORK (AP) — Al Roker has made it into the Guinness World Records for the longest continuous live weather broadcast.
Roker completed a 34-hour marathon forecast this morning on NBC's "Today" show. He lasted an hour longer than the previous record holder, a TV personality in Norway.
During his marathon, which was streamed live online, Roker did nearly 300 live shots for different TV outlets around the world, as far away as Australia.
By the time it was over, his voice was reduced to a croak.
Roker thanked Mother Nature for the active, cold weather pattern over the United States that kept things interesting.
The "Rokerthon" raised about $70,000 for the USO.
