POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Wildlife officials in southeastern Idaho rescued two male deer that apparently fell into a deep window well at a house while sparring.

The Idaho State Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1xCUYsz) that Idaho Department of Fish and Game workers and officers from the Bannock County Sheriff's Office pulled the two bucks out last week.

Fish and Game Senior Conservation Officer Merritt Horsmon says workers considered tranquilizing the deer but decided instead to lift them out and let them return to the woods on their own.

He says male deer become more aggressive and less cautious during the rut this time of year.
