HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say a cause of death is being investigated after a 48-year-old jail detainee died in a booking area of the Henderson city lockup.
City spokeswoman Kathleen Richards says the heavyset man didn't report any health conditions before he went unconscious from an apparent medical episode about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Henderson Detention Center.
Richards says paramedics were unable to revive the man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Richards says the inmate was being detained pending an appearance before a judge on a parole and probation hold.
The Clark County coroner didn't immediately release the man's name and cause of death.
